If you are having trouble opening your DVD drive or reading CDs with it, use this guide to replace it with a new one.

    • Turn over the laptop to view the underside.

    • Use tweezers (or a similar tool) to slide the orange push pin. To release the battery, push it to the left.

    • You can lift the battery up and out now.

    • Remove the 7.0 mm screw, circled in the picture, using a Phillips head screwdriver.

    • Once the screw is removed, the DVD drive should easily slide out

    • Remove the drive completely.

    • Face the side of the DVD drive that connects to the laptop and remove the 3mm screw with a Phillips head screwdriver.

    • Put the screw and the bracket to the side as you may need it for your replacement.
